School Social Worker- Miss Vivien Bisonaya
Hello! First of all, I'd just like to welcome you and your family to Komensky School!
My name is Vivien Bisonaya and I am one of the school social workers at Komensky Elementary. Students at Komensky usually know me as Ms. B.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois in 2002 and completed my Masters Degree in School Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2004. I have 6 years of experience as a school social worker. This is my 7th year at Komensky and in District 100. It is an absolutely amazing thing to have the opportunity to work with children...to help them and to watch them learn and grow every day...I truly enjoy my job as a school social worker!
I am a firm believer in the importance of educating the whole child. We as school professionals and you as parents have such an important responsibility in helping prepare our children for the future. Just as teaching academic skills is important, it is also vital that we teach our children and students life-skills that will help them grow up to become caring and successful individuals as well as productive and contributing members of society.
I am honored to work as one of the members of such a caring community of teachers and staff who are dedicated to doing our best in serving our students and families. Should you have any concerns about your child regarding either difficult situations at school or at home, please do not hesitate to let your child's teacher know that you would like to refer them for social work support.
You can also contact me directly at (708)795-2342 ext. 4423 or vbisonaya@bsd100.org
